DIY- protecting sunglasses from damage

Most people, including myself, would keep the sunglasses in hard cases. However, one of the details that we might neglect is protecting the actual sunglass frame. As with my dear shades, you can see that there's a bunch of lacquered white camellias on the temple. When the sunglasses are folded, the facing sides might actually press on each other and get scratched by the camellias.

I decided to make a small felt sleeve for the sunglass. I measured enough felt to cover the entire arm, and then sewed up the longer side so that it can slip onto the arm snugly. It doesn't have to be very tight and fitted, but cannot be so loose that the felt sleeve falls out easily. One sleeve is enough, so only the inner arm will be 'wearing' a sleeve when I keep it in the sunglass box!

It's a simple way to protect the arm, especially for similar sunglasses that have designs at the temple. It may be troublesome at times to put the sleeve back on and then remove it whenever you need to wear it, but it does help protect the shades.

Simple ways to protect your stuff with a bit of DIY!
