peplum belt pairings: outfit inspiration

Peplums have been all the rage this season, and as featured earlier, I'd gotten myself a peplum belt. You can think of a peplum belt as a detachable peplum for tops or dresses that don't have peplums. Peplums are great for everyone. It can hide any tummy fats, or serve to accentuate the curves if you have a tiny waist. It's easy to work a peplum to suit your wardrobe! I chanced upon some stock photos of the Etro leather peplum belt. They have it in red and black, but both are sold out. Nonetheless, the looks provide a good inspiration!

The peplum has been paired with a sweater and skirt, and I like how casual it looks! I had usually thought that peplums are for more structured outfits, but this combination clearly shows that peplums can go with anything. And the red totally adds a pop of color into the neutral outfit! Red is a pretty unique color for the belt, as most of the options offered by brands like BCBG Maxazria (the one I bought), H&M and ASOS are in black.

In this other look, the black Etro peplum belt (also sold out!) is featured. This is a more formal look with a lace top and printed skirt. It's a great way to spice up any outfit indeed.

Hope that this helps! I love to look at net-a-porter for inspirations and pairings, and once in a while I'd find some gem there as well. The good thing about the site is that they provide details of the items worn in the entire outfit, so it's very convenient for referencing and shopping. The good stuff get sold out very quickly, so if you see something you like, you may not want to hesitate too long. One of the sites that I love to browse, especially when I'm extremely busy with work and cannot spare the time to go out to the shops to get my dose of new fashion picks!
