tokidoki at comic con

Over the past weekend of September 1 and 2, 2012, I was at the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC). I showed some snippets of the stuff I saw in the previous entry, and I'll be sharing on more stuff over the next few days! Today's feature shall be on tokidoki.

I decided to get some apparel. I already have a few shirts from the brand and I wear them pretty often. My favorite one has got to be the Singapore exclusive shirt from 2011. I actually wore it to the STGCC! And it was a relief that I didn't bump into anyone wearing that shirt. I love how the icons of Singapore are incorporated into the design, and I've received countless compliments when I wear the shirt!

One of the shirt I got was the Donut Love (as stated on the tag). It features donutella and her male donut friend, whose name I'm not sure of. I love the pink shirt, and it was the only pink design available.

The other shirt I got was actually a men's shirt, and I've not opened it so more of that next time! I had to get the smallest size, but even that was pretty huge for me.

I did, as mentioned, pass on most of the figurines but I decided to get one. Since I love rabbits, I got Mr. Truffles. There was the silver limited edition one and the yellow regular one. I actually preferred the full colored one, so I got the regular Truffles!

The yellow is really cheerful looking! Love the tones of orange on the spike.

I managed to get the figurine signed by the creative director and artist of Tokidoki, Simone Legno! Really happy that the took the time to chat with the fans, and he was really friendly. He looked extremely tired at the end of the day though.

It was nice to meet one of my favorite artist and chat about his work with him. Hopefully he'll be back in 2013! Definitely looking forward to the next comic con, even though the previous one was just a few hours ago. I must confess that I did not get all the new stuff that was released this year, as opposed to many many fans that got the new series of toys. I'm happy with my current collection!

One of the things that struck me was that the friends are really nice and polite! Some of them gave Mr Legno presents (I saw donuts!). I hung out with several of them, and it was nice sharing about our passion and the products that we managed to get. I've accrued some stuff over the years, some of which are extremely rare and hard to get. A lot of designs are one-off releases, so if I really like the style I'd definitely get the item. I've got a whole load of collaboration pieces as well, ranging from Hello Kitty x Tokidoki, Tokidoki for Sephora, Tokidoki for Smashbox, Tokidoki x Lesportsac and Tokidoki x gelaskin. I'm sure there's some stuff that I missed out, but I do have lots of things other than the vinyl figurines. These things will be with me along the course of the day, so I'm really happy to have cute little trinkets with me all the while!

This is a small part of my collection. I have a lot more stuff than this! And it's ever growing...
